Borne free into the night air.

Unkept by gravity’s hold,

Derived of the matter of the Earth,

Our home, our cradle.

Traveling beyond,

Into the barely tread realm,

Of orbital maneuvering.

And stepping a toe,

Into the frigid waters,

Of the cosmic sea of spacetime.

Hope travels along with you.

Eyes looking up,

Hearts and minds feeling as one.

When you look back at us,

All of us in this biosphere,

And know that we are here,

Will you dream a dream for us?

In your time touching the beyond,

We will still be looking up,

And waiting.

Waiting in excitement and hope.
